Ultarama Collectible Display System

Reviewed by Sidra Roberts

When I was at San Diego Comic Con I fought a nifty new product that interested me. There's a new, innovative product out in the action figure market. If you, like me can't see the point of keeping your action figures in their box, Ultarama is the thing for you. The Ultarama Display System is easily customizable, you could do whatever you put your mind to. You could paint the platform white for an ice world. You could also put the platforms back to back by connecting them with the premolded clips. You could easily mount Ultarama on your wall using L-brackets.

Each two-story unit is one SKU. There are eighty premolded peg holes on the floor of the system, which translates into twenty peg holes on each section. For each line of action figures the designers of Ultarama have created special molded pegs that will attach the action figures to the floor. These pegs make it possible to set up the figures without having to constantly reset them because they've fallen over.

The really cool thing about Ultarama is that it's expandable. You can take the caps off and build it up to six stories high. Ultarama actually can be expanded horizontally too with the center section insert. You're no longer restricted to one set plane or size. It's great.

There are two different "models" of the Ultarama. One of these models is a special Star Trek licensed model available through Star Trek Communicator. It's available now on a preorder basis and shipping will commence in early September. There is also the Sci Fi version. The plastic components are the same as the Star Trek model, but the difference is in the stock royalty-free photography cards that slip into the back of the plastic display. These cards come with the display, but you can also purchase them through the Ultarama website.

If you're interested in buying Ultarama or just interesting in finding out more about the system you can go to their website at www.ultarama.com .
