As promised from last month, here's the review for the Y-Wing
Fighter from the Star Wars: Power of the Force line. I've been waiting
for this for a long time and I was not let down.
Name: | Star Wars Power of the Force Y-Wing Fighter |
Company: | Hasbro |
Price: | $19.99 (plus tax) |
Notes: | Target Exclusive. Packaged with exclusive pilot figure. |
BASIC OVERVIEW:
The ship measures just over two feet long when fully assembled. It is molded in a
gray plastic with lots of details. The cockpit swings open from the side rather than
from the top like most of the other vehicles in this line. Behind the cockpit is the
R2 unit's head that turns 360 degrees. Assembly is pretty basic with engines you just
have to finish assembling. It can be done in about 10 minutes.
FEATURES:
Retractable landing gear, and bomb dropping capability. Both are controlled
with sliding buttons on the top of the vehicle.
GOOD POINTS:
No stickers to put on (they are already put on.) Comes with pilot figure
(no extra cost for getting another figure.)
BAD POINTS:
The only thing I could find wrong with it is that after a few times of
using the landing gear, it has a tendency to come part way down when retracted.
I've been told this can be fixed with some minor tweaking of the gears inside
the vehicle. I have not done that though, because I do not want to chance
ruining it.
OVERALL:
I'd recommend getting it if you are a die hard fan or want to collect
all the things Star Wars related.
