"Its been a while since they let me out to
play." -- Psymon "SSX Tricky"
Well after a few months off, Im back and I have
news of all sorts for you to lay your eyes on.
First, heres some non-toy news for you, but I
figured you all would get a
kick out of it. Apparently the producer of the
X-Men 2 movie is shopping around studios for a
live action GI Joe movie. Heres hoping it does
not revolve around Snake Eyes. Also, Rankin-Bass
of Thundercats and Silverhawks fame is putting
together two projects based on the Thundercats
license. There will be a direct to video cartoon
and live action movie coming soon.
Graphitti Designs is coming out with a line of
Clerks Inaction Figures. Why
are they called Inaction figures you ask; well
Ill tell you, apparently they have no points of
articulation at all. This is actually the second
set of figures put out by Graphitti. This time
they focus on the great Kevin Smith film Mallrats.
There will be Jay, Silent Bob, William, Rene,
Brodie, Steve-Dave and Walt the Fan Boy. All of
the figures are done in a style reminiscent of the
Clerks Cartoon and look outstanding. Look for them
at your favorite comic shop some time in the fall.
This month the New GI Joe line gets a shot in the
arm with more two packs.
This time the Joes come with accessories to
disguise themselves as the enemy. Look for two
packs of Lady Jaye & Iron Grenadier, Grunt &
Destro, Laser & Coils and Kamakura & Night
Creeper.
This month look for Wave 6 of Spider-Man action
figures. Look for Parachute
Spider-Man, Rocket Launching Spider-man, Kraven
the Hunter and Stunt Daredevil. Coming in
September is Wave 7 of Spider-Man action figures.
This time around will be Flip and Zip Spider-Man,
Peter Parker Spider-Man, Shoot and Grab Spider-Man
and a rather cartoonie looking Green Goblin.
For those of you wanting a major Star Wars fix,
then youll probably be
waiting until September for the Clone Wars action
figure line. So far, all Ive seen is the Clone
Wars Yoda and he looks so cute. For those of you
who cant wait that long, out now is a Mynock Hunt
Chewbacca (with shooting Bowcaster), Han Solo in
Hoth Gear and a Snowtrooper as your troop builder
of the month.
Just in time of the busy summer travel season,
Disney is offering a line of
four-inch action figures based on the Indiana
Jones attraction at the park. The figures out now
are Indiana Jones (without trademark whip), Marion
Ravenwood, German Soldier, German Mechanic and
Swordsman. All of these seem to be based off the
old molds for the Indiana Jones and the Raiders of
the Lost Ark action figures put out in the early
1980s. Look for them at Disneyworld and
Disneyland right now.
Last on the agenda for this month is the Marvel
Legends line by Toy Biz due
out this month. Look for the fourth wave of
figures that has Beast (the blue and fuzzy
version), Gambit (with 34 points of articulation
and fabric trenchcoat.), Electra (with a whopping
38 points of articulation) and the Punisher in his
classic black and white skull outfit.
Thats all for this month. I hope you all did not
miss me that much.
