Toy Chest

By: Mathew Bredfeldt Mathew_Bredfeldt@nospamhotmail.com

First up this month is the Teen Titans line of action figures based on the Cartoon Network show of the same name. There will be a 3.5" line as well as a 5" line of figures. DC Direct will not put these out; instead Bandai will put them out. The five-inch figures will have some sort of action feature or a light up feature. The three figures in the five-inch will be Cyborg, Beast Boy and Robin. Each of the 3.5" figures will come with some sort of vehicle. The figures in the 3.5" line will be Starfire, Raven, and Robin. Look for these figures to be out in May or June.

Next up on the agenda for this month are the Marvel Legends figures from Toy Biz. Due out this summer, this line is mutant influenced with the likes of Wolverine (in his brown and yellow costume), Phoenix (she will be the figure to get because she's the chase figure), Cable, Deadpool, and Juggernaut. The only non-mutant in the set is the Punisher, which I guess is because his movie will be out about that time.

The Transformers Generation One bandwagon keeps rolling on in the spring with the next group of figures. This time around is Transformers the Movie mainstay Rodimus Prime, and Deceptacon Jet Dirge. Also coming out will be Sideswipe and Skids. Look for them some time this spring at Toys R Us.

Last up this month is DC Direct and their August offerings. Coming in this set will be a set of Silver Age figures based on Batwoman and Bat-Girl that will also include Bat-mite and Ace the Bathound.

That's all for this month. If you have any questions, comment's or article ideas, feel free to e-mail me at the address above. Just remove the nospam in the address line and you'll reach me.
