The Confessional

In this one-shot by Warpton Press, Lucifer goes into a confessional and shows the priest what he says is the true reason he got kicked out of heaven and that he's sick of existing and wants to kill himself. This presents the Priest with a problem. Do you believe this man? And if you do, what do you do about his desire to kill himself, because if there's to be a God there has to be a Satan, too, to balance things out?

Overall, the story is very interesting. The art, however, puts me off. It's not that it's bad art. I think it is the fact that the inking is inconsistent throughout the book that does it for me. I thought that maybe it was the fact that I had a black and white preview copy that the inking looked so wonky at times, but I looked at the scans of the final colored product and it looks about the same.

Like I said, though, the story is interesting and the take on the Devil is different. It's worth looking into just for that. You can check it out Warpton's site, http://www.warpton.co.uk/, if you're interested in seeing what some of it looks like and judging for yourself.
