"The Stepford Wives"

    Movie Review by Sidra Roberts

Okay, so having seen the hokey 1970's version of this movie, I was intrigued by the idea that they were remaking this movie. What in God's name would make them think this was a good idea? Then I looked at the director: Frank Oz. And then I looked at the cast: Bette Midler, Christopher Walken, Ferris Bueller . . . um I mean Mathew Broderick, and Nicole Kidman.

It's directed by Frank Oz, who also directed Little Shop of Horrors. It's got Chris Walken? Mmmmm . . . I thought to myself. It's got Bette Midler as a Stepford Wife, oh that's PRICELESS. Hmm . . . Okay I'm sold. I wanna go see it.

I managed to convince Zack that it wouldn't be scary in the "give you nightmares" kind of way. I might have lied a little there. Ever since the movie I can illicit a twitch from him with just the simplest of "Yes, Dear"'s in an overly perky voice.

It was a GREAT movie. It was truly hilarious and the main characters are all charming and compelling. It far exceeded my expectations, and when it comes out on DVD, I want it. I definitely recommend going and seeing it if you haven't yet.
