Hitch
Movie review by Sidra Roberts

Hitch is a romantic comedy. As such, it is highly predictable, which is its only real downside. Hitch is a very cute movie with Will Smith doing one of the things he does best-playing a warm-fuzzy cool guy. Alex 'Hitch' Hitchens is the "Date Doctor". His business is completely under the table. He helps nice guys who genuinely like women get the girl of their dreams. Hitch has a problem, though. He really doesn't buy his product. He was deeply hurt once and so he guards himself from really falling in love.

Sara is a workaholic gossip columnist, who catches Hitch's eye one night at a club. Sara believes it's easier to never love so you never get hurt. Hitch manages to convince Sara to go out with him, through an ingeniously charming series of events. Through a series of twists and turns you can guess what happens there.

The biggest highlight of this movie has to be Kevin James, of King of Queens fame, playing the bumbling accountant Albert who is in love with a famous heiress Allegra Cole. Albert hires Hitch to help him woo the lovely Miss Cole. Kevin James is just amazingly amusing and endearing.

The problem comes to light when people start questioning how a guy like Albert could get a girl like Allegra. And when Sara's best friend gets literally screwed over by a goon who claims to have used the "Date Doctor" to get her in bed. Sara goes out gunning for the "Date Doctor" and soon the jig is up for both Hitch and Albert.

It's a funny and entertaining movie. Hitch really is the perfect date movie. It covers all those little quibbles we all have about dating with a fun sense of humor and has a nice warm fuzzy ending. While it is what would be commonly referred to as a chick flick, it isn't a bad one where you'll want to spork your eyes out within the first five minutes. It really is a great ode to the nice guy getting the girl.
