The only problem I had with Johnny Raygun was that I wasn't sure what order I should read it in. Should I read the Quarterly or the Special Edition first? I can now help you with that. Read the Special Edition first, and the Quarterly second. Though if you read it backwards, like I did, you'll still be able to understand everything well.

When I picked up Johnny Raygun, I wasn't sure what to expect. It looked like a hokey 1950's space adventure comic. In some ways, it is just that, especially with the stylized character and world design. However, Johnny Raygun has a distinctly modern flare to its humor.

Johnny is an Agent for Raygun Agency, why his name and the name of the Agency are the same is never really explained, but it is quite clear from the comic that he is not in charge of Raygun Agency. The only answer I can come up with is that perhaps your last name automatically becomes Raygun after you become an agent.

The stories have an excellent pace and compelling plot line. The art is reminiscent of pulp comics, and occasionally some of the characters are hard to tell apart like Mud Master and Johnny. But overall, it's a fun read. You can go check it out at http://www.johnnyraygun.com/ or http://www.jetpackpress.com/.
