The first two lines of a new series called Alex Ross' Justice is due out in
May of this year and will include Green Lantern, Plastic Man, Wonder Woman,
a bordering on nude Poison Ivy and a dapperly dressed Joker. There will be a
second wave in September that will include Hawkman, Shazam, Back Adam,
undead baddie Solomon Grundy, and Zatanna.
There will be a new line of X-Men figures due out this Spring by Toy Biz.
These will not be based on the characters of the third X-Man movie due out
sometime this year, but instead will be based on their comic book personas.
There will be multiple versions of the three main heroes Wolverine, Cyclops,
and Beast as well as single figures of Angel, Juggernaut, Magneto and
Phoenix.
Here's something I hardly hit on, but I figure the news is as good as any.
Lego is coming out with a line of assemble yourself (as most Lego lines are)
Batman related vehicles and figures. Due out this Spring, look for the
Batmobile, Batplane, and Batboatas the vehicles as well as packs of the
little Lego figures with the likes of Mr. Freeze, Joker, Two-Face, Penguin,
and Killer Croc and many more.
Diamond Select Toys has picked up the license to produce action figures
based on the Stargate SG-1 license. Look for three figures of Col/General
O'Neal, a Serpent Guard, and Dr. Daniel Jackson all due out this Spring.
Diamond Select Toys also has a new series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer
figures coming out in the Summer. Look for two packs of figures of Prom
Angel and Buffy, "The Gift" Dawn and Glory, and a first if I have ever seen
it, an action figure of Buffy's mom Joyce and her daughter Dawn.
A little pack in with the new Star Wars Action figures has just been
brought to my attention. It appears, that packed in the with the Star Wars
Saga action figures, will be a miniature "hologram" figure. These are
randomly packed into them so they are going to be vary hard to collect. Look
for Boba Fett, Count Dooku, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Han Solo, Luke
Skywalker, Obi-Wan, Queen Amidala, Rebel Trooper, Stormtrooper and
everyone's favorite, Yoda.
That's all for this month. If you have something you want me to write
about, then by all means send an e-mail to my editor and she'll send it my
way and I'll take it under advisement.
