Zack actually picked this up when we went to the comic shop because he thought that the cover looked cool. He read it and handed it to me, telling me that I needed to read this. Having finished reading, it I can definitely see why he thought I should read it.

Set in 2162 Los Angeles Hip Flask a refreshingly different view of the future and a new look at the whole anthropomorphic detective story. The anthropomorphic characters in this comic are the survivors of a genetic engineering experiments. The characters were rehabilitated by the UN Intel Taskforce and granted rights by the Elephant Man Laws. They are more commonly known as Unhumans or Elephantmen.

In this issue a car crashes through a building across the street from a time experiment, sending Hip Flask to go investigate it. The evil scientist, who created the Elephantmen, believes that there is someone out to release him from his prison and a gang war is erupting between Obadiah Horn and Baron Serengheti.

Overall it is a very cool book, with very good plot. The art is phenomenal. The textures of the skin of the people and the Elephantmen are just stunning to look at. It's definitely worth the investment. If you want to check it out yourself go to http://www.hipflask.com/issues/mysterycity/index.html
