My Opinion on Pop Culture Issues 2

By: Mathew Bredfeldt Mathew_Bredfeldt@nospam.hotmail.com

Here a few random opinion on things that have happened over the past two months.

American Idol has started on the Fox television network. I have no interest in American Idol since last year when a silver haired "twenty-six" year old was made the American Idol by America over the much hotter much better female singer. Not since the Ruben Stoddard season have I been let down by the American people. Now America is letting me down by not voting Sanjia out the first or second week. If Sanjia makes it into the top five then I'm going to lose faith in America and if he actually wins, I'm moving to Canada.

Dancing With the Stars has started on the ABC network and after Emmitt Smith's win last year over the pretty boy Mario Lopez made me think that the next season was going to be good. So far I have seen 0 things that make me want to watch this show. Not even the last minute addition of the actor that played Cliff Clavin on Cheers does the trick.

On the My TV Network they have a "Game Show" called My Games Fever. This show has one host and is much like Game Show Networks Playmania in which you play mini-games for cash. There is something irritating about My Games Fever in that they have constant sound effects like a siren and a phone ringing and they must pay those hosts a lot of money to scream. The other thing that bugs me is the games they choose. They will spend a minimum of an hour to ninety minutes on game called count the yo-yo's. Count the yo-yo's involves a six by six square grid with the letter's y & o in seemingly random order and the host wants you to guess how many of the word yo-yo are in the grid. They have been known to drag out the same grid over a week before discarding it and moving on.

Oprah continues to make the women of America her sheep because I cannot go one day without hearing something about "The Secret" and Oprah's name in the same breath. I did a little research and found that either you believe in "The Secret" or you don't. I personally don't because if positive thinking got me everything I wanted then I would have gotten the GI Joe hovercraft when I was a kid, my parent's would not have divorced when I was young, and I would not be diabetic, schizoaffective, high cholesterol, and hypertensive and have already lived half my life.

Here's something I'm going to do every now and then; Mathew's top 5 hot women of Television.

  • Giada De Laurentiis (http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/giada_delaurentiis/0,1974,FOOD_10968,00.html) - Hot because of two things. She's can cook and she's Italian.

  • Rachel Ray (http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/rachael_ray/0,1974,FOOD_9928,00.html) - hot because she Italian and can cook, but also hosts her own talk show that is much better than Oprah.

  • Sandra Lee (http://www.semihomemade.com/sandra-lee/biography.htm) - she's hot because she has no kids and has already made lots of money. Plus she's just plain hot.

  • The woman from the RGX Body Spray commercials. My younger brother put it best; she looks like an older Winnie Cooper from "The Wonder Years."

  • Kristine Kahanek (http://cbs11tv.com/bios/local_bio_101193734.html) - She's hot for two reasons. First, she's a natural redhead, and you know what they say about redheads. Second, she's on TV doing the weather and she's not a "weather girl." That means she's got a good head attached to her shoulders.

If you have any links to hot television women from the local news, national news (excluding CNN, MSNBC, Fox News), commercials or any cable network station, send me a link at the address above and put "hot women" in the subject line.

I'll put the ones I like into next month's article.
