Spore is going to be an incredible game. At first, I wasn't in the least bit interested -- but then I found this (A HREF="http://www.spore.com/trial">http://www.spore.com/trial). The Spore Creature Creator is an incredibly clever bit of advertising from the folks that are putting out Spore. This little program will allow you to make custom critters in the game, but it also lets you build them without the game, and take video and pictures of them. There's a test drive feature that lets you play around with your creation as well. The trial doesn't have a time limit, it is a trial by way of not having every part available to use on your creature. The full version is only 10 bucks, and seems like a great buy for the amount of fun one can get out of it. The variety of critters that you can make is amazing. I've been amusing myself by conceptualizing all sorts of elder beings, but I've also seen people make great replicas of things like Yoshi and Bowser. For being so clever, they've definitely won my purchase. The trial is definitely worth the time it takes to download, even if you decide not to buy the finished product, the little shoggoths that you create will make the world a better place.
