First thing that got my attention with this comic was the space suit on the front cover. As a space nut, I was instantly drawn to this book. I used to want to be an astronaut before I figured out I didn't like flying and I had no desire to go to graduate school.

This book takes place in the near future at a point where a space station crew is five multinational space tourists, in addition to the normal astronauts and cosmonauts. One of the multinationals is an American whose original dreams of space flight were thwarted when the Challenger blew up. When asked if he would continue his dream knowing it may well get him killed, he bowed out. Now he's onboard as a space tourist.

Things, however, take a turn for the worse when they lose an astronaut on what should be an easy enough space walk. Was it an accident? Was it sabotage? Or was it something so foul as murder? The first book leaves you at a cliffhanger with the characters crammed into a tiny space where any of them could be the killer.

Overall the book is decent. There are some moments that I question how far my suspension of disbelief is supposed to go, but for the most part these moments are few and far between. It's set up to be an interesting character study and mystery, both of which I enjoy.

The art is very pretty and quite professional. If you like whodunits and outer space travel, this could very well be the book for you. You can check out the attractive cover and synopsis at: http://www.boom-studios.net/station-1.html You can also order yourself a copy while you're there.
