I had a whole thing planned out in my head, doing a bunch of X-Babes, but every time I started sketching, they just didn't work out.
I did manage to get one idea to work out.
In her career, Betsy Braddock has been run through the wringer. She started out as the mousy psychic sister of Captain Britain and over the years, she's evolved into one of the toughest chicks in the Marvel Universe. She's also gone from being an upper-class Englishwoman to a supermodel-hot Asian ninja-chick. Along the way, her powers have increased from precognition and telepathy to telekinesis and psychic energy "knives" and a psychic katana.
Early on, before she got body-swapped or whatever it was that made her Asian, she had one of the girliest costumes Alan Davis ever drew. After the race-change, she had one of those armor suits that you only see in the comics. Skin-tight bands of shiny metal and an improbably large head dress and all that. I guess that was boring to draw or something, so pretty soon, they had her in a knock-off of Elektra's costume, minus the headscarf.
I used this design as the basis for mine, but reworked it as a body suit. I included a hood and kept the sword-arm free. I decided to incorporate the X into her costume, since I like the idea of the team identification.

I'm hoping to come up with some other new designs for X-Men, but that will have to wait for another time.
