Origin: Eli was one of the "spontaneous exohumans" that occasionally crop up. His abilities grew in overtime from around his 15 birthday and didn't reach their present state until after his twenty first birthday. As far back as his childhood- he had only one dream to serve his country like his father and grandfather before him.

During his second tour, he got word of screams of pain coming out of the morgue on at a Naval base in Afghanistan. After it became clear no one was investigating the matter, he went to investigate himself. He wound up battling a group of Navy Seals guarding the morgue. What he found was work being done under the command of Dr. Simon Kirby on Project: Prometheus. Kirby was doing illegal medical experiments. They had taken DNA samples from Streichman and other exohumans- particularly those with strength or healing abilities- during their physicals in attempt to replicate those powers in regular humans in an attempt to create super soldiers. Most of the test subjects died. Though it is unknown if this was due to a flaw in the process or because they only had soldiers who were critically injured (including those who had lost limbs or had massive internal injuries) to work with.

He was told to say he saw nothing. Instead, Streichman tried to get the project shut down but was arrested for his actions coming into the base. Eventually, after a thorough investigation, it was determined that the experiments (being done without the consent of those giving the samples or the test subjects) were illegal, immoral and in violation of several treaties the United States had in place with the Russians and the Chinese.

In spite of these actions, or perhaps because of them, when the Secretary of the Navy decided the Marine Corps should have a liaison officer to The League of Explorers, much as the Army had Major Patriot, Streichman was chosen.

Personality: At first glance, he seems like the stereotypical marine. Hard working, efficient and unwilling to quit. In some ways he does not fit the profile. As the Prometheus incident shows, he is perfectly willing to disobey orders if his conscience tells him that his orders are wrong.

He has also taken an interest in the surviving Prometheus subjects- even those that opted not to join The Explorers- seeing their well being as part of his responsibility no matter how indirect. He only rarely socializes with the rest of the team- preferring the keep his office life and home life separate.

He has developed an exceptionally close bond to Molly Dunn- an inspector for Scotland Yard's Super Powered Crimes Unit, who met while on assignment with The League of Explorers while tracking an international arms trafficker. While Dunn has a degree of super human durability of her own, their relationship is tentative at best. At the advice of his former physician, Dr. Niven- Streichman was remained celibate out of fear what even a momentary loss of control could do to anyone he would do to any woman he had relations with.

Height: 6'4"
Weight: 245 Lbs
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Blue

Powers: Streichman is in all ways a human assault vehicle. His strength is such that he can lift nearly 12 tons. His reflexes, while much faster than a normal human, are not at a level where he can catch bullets. With difficulty he can out run most conventional cars traveling at legal highway speeds- at least for short distances- up to two miles. He is highly durable as well, immune to effects of conventional bullets but can be harmed by arm piercing rounds. He can absorb small amounts of electrical energy and rechannel it. His most noticeable power is his healing. His regenerative capabilities are not fully charted. At one point he had both knees blown off but they have since regenerated. He suffered a concussion playing football in high school but even that completely healed almost before the doctors could tell it was there. While he will rapidly regenerate from any known injury, he still feels pain. Through a combination of his powers and Marine Corps training, Eli can go over a week without sleep with no signs of physical exhaustion. Though when sleep does kick in, he usually requires nearly 24-36 full hours of downtime depending on the amount of physical exertion.
