Well, this month we're back to talking about my stuff. I've been slowly rebuilding my HeroBlog.com website as a WordPress site. I'm still not finished with the look of it, but it's close enough, for now.

It's been over three years since I posted a new HeroBlog entry, so I've had to come up with a reason for Amp's absence. One thing that is different from a regular comic character, the blog format enforces more-or-less real time on the writer. Between the last issue of The Man Called Nova and his reappearance in The New Warriors, more than ten years passed in the real world, but seemingly only a number of months had passed in Rich Rider's life. Such are the vagaries of comic time.

In HeroBlog, Amp last posted in September of 2009, with nary a guest appearance elsewhere, since. The truth is, I was so busy working on Ad Astra (which has also languished for a number of months, as I write this, but will be restarting soon) and bouncing between the two periods just wore on me. Recently, I've devised a way to bring Amp back and restart HeroBlog and get Ad Astra going again, without crossing them over, though that remains a possibility. Someday.

So, we haven't seen Amp for awhile, which gives me an opportunity to indulge in one of my favorite pastimes, costume design, as well as taking the opportunity to do my first Amp mock cover.

I'm still working on the mock cover, but I thought I needed a coming soon type thing . . .

And while I was working up a new look for Amp, I thought I'd revisit some of the other young heroes of the HeroBlog universe.

For those who have an interest in writing superhero fiction, (or anything for that matter) I think a blog site is an excellent format for stretching your writing muscles. WordPress is so easy to work with, anybody can do it.

Oh, an if anyone knows of a WordPress theme that allows post-by-post navigation, like a web comic, please drop me an email at joe@heroblog.com, I want to set it up to be able to be read that way. seems a lot better than all that scrolling up and down.
