With the announcement, leak, whatever of the addition of the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver to the next Avengers movie, I got to wondering what I could do with them. I was disappointed that they said it wouldn't be the "Magneto's children" version, since that would be one way to start threading the various movie versions together into a cohesive movie universe. Oh, well. What're you gonna do? It's probably some contract thing.
Of the various "versions" of these characters that have appeared over the years, it's hard to say what would be the best fit for the Whedon Avengers. Even the Ultimates versions are Magneto's children/Brotherhood of (Evil) Mutants terrorist types. I guess they could do the childern of the Whizzer and Miss America. It'd be cool to hint at the existence of the Invaders, that way. Or, they could go with the Maximoff/Romany origin and just ignore the Magneto connection. That was added later, anyway, it could be, again.
I'm thinking that Quicksilver's costume should be like modern sportswear, making him the first "spandex" hero in the Avengers. These days, the sports gear that's on the market looks like superhero costumes, anyway. It'd be nice to have at least one character who's not in fetish-wear of some kind.

For the Scarlet Witch, you kinda have to stray into the fetish-wear type thing. It's unavoidable, unless you're going to go with the Ultimates leathers. I prefer something that still gives her the chance at a little showmanship. If not the cloak, at least a billowing scarf.

I'd also like to see another character make an appearance, to tie Thanos further into the series. I think it would be great if they wouldn't leap into the Thanos storyline, let it build for another film and make for a big climax and all that. Thinking along those lines, Moondragon would be a good addition. If not to the team, as a sort of "sidebar" story that links things together.
To simplify things, and to shorten the timeline of Thanos's interference on Earth, she could be a sort of psychic hermit/martial artist. She avoids people because they cause her pain. She trains, because she's all about control and all that. Maybe her psychic gifts have tipped her about Thanos and that's how she gets involved with the Avengers.

I had hoped that they would have taken the opportunity presented by the "alone in the wilderness" segment of Iron Man 3 (okay, not exactly wilderness, but alone for a bit) to do a twist on Iron Man's first encounter with Thanos. Just a short scene where Tony stumbles on a hidden base in a cave and a hint that it's Thanos's forward base on Earth. Just thought it would be fun.
