The first live action film from the mind of Mike
Judge, the creator of Bevis & Butthead.
The film centers around how much work sucks. Ron Livingston's
character (whose name I can't remember ,Tom or Tim or something) hates his
bosses (he's got 8 of them) , hates his work, his apartment, and his girl
friend is cheating on him. Well, after his girlfriend takes him to a
hypnotist to help him unwind, the hypnotist dies in the middle of the
session, leaving him without a care in the world. He decides
he's just not gonna go to work any more, he's just not gonna go.
He does eventually go in after not going for like a week and it
just happens to be his turn to talk to the new consultants, who are
making layoffs. Well, after stating he doesn't care and he actually
does about 15 minutes work total each week, they decide he's management
material. After telling him they are going to lay off his two best friends
while promoting him, he tells his friends about what's going to happen to
them. After some talking, they decide they will put a virus in the system
that will take the fractions of pennies that are rounded off and put it
in a account for them. Basically the plot of Superman 3. After messing up
a decimal, they end up taking more money than will be overlooked : they
are basically screwed.
This movie is just plain funny, Dilbert on crack. I loved it! It
has so many characters that are so dysfunctional. It is one of the best
comedies I've ever seen, I was laughing so hard my sides hurt. I gotta go
see it a couple more times, now that I think about it. Oh man, go see it,
if you hate your job, like Dilbert, and need a laugh, ah, just go see it.
