The Collector Times Philosophy

By Sheryl Roberts

We are not trying to be Wizard. We are not trying to be Mania. We are not going to look like any other comics site out there on the net. We believe in a fast loading site. We do have graphics, but they are carefully chosen, judiciously placed, and compressed to be fast loading. What we would rather you judge us on is our content, rather than on our appearance.

The Collector Times is a comics fandom oriented magazine. We try to cover various aspects of fandom including the comics themselves, gaming, and related interests.

We are not beholden to anyone. We can hype what we feel worth hyping and we can blast what we feel like needs discouraging. The editor has no desire to be a comics professional, therefore, the editor doesn't feel obligated to duck asking the tough questions, or fear printing some outrageous things, for fear she might piss some Power in Comics off. On the other hand, all of us here at The Collector Times love and respect the comics medium, and realize the hard work involved in putting out a creative and/or commercial product. We don't go out of our way to anger people, but we won't avoid it, either. What we hope we do is generate some discussion and/or thought out there in cyberspace, and in the real world.

We do not think we are special and important because we have a comics zine. We don't consider ourselves Forces to Be Reckoned With in the Comics Industry. We believe in inclusion. The staff's ages range from 14-46, and we come from a variety of backgrounds. None of us do this as a job, we do this because we love it. The Collector Times is about us having fun, and hopefully, entertaining you, the reader.
