Welcome to another month of ranting and raving like the lunatic I am.
This month I will continue my thoughts on Titans, and a new development in hypertime, will
it be good, or stupid?
Well, let's talk about Titans. I think that Grayson's handling them
pretty much ok, but it seems like Vic (Cyborg) is being made into a cheap Plastic Man with
these new powers. He's always shown stretching, bending around, and things. I guess I
don't like the new powers I like the "classic" Vic.
Lets also talk about the new Titans villain "Goth". Everyone knows
it's a caricature of Marilyn Manson. Goth is supposed to be a Horror film
star that never gets out of character, which is red body paint and big wings and stuff.
Anyway, Goth uses some kind of mind control to get his army of fans to imitate the murders
in his movies.
Some people don't like their play on Manson, because they're
inferring that Manson brainwashes his fans. I'm gonna defend this comic.
Personally, I hate Manson. I've listened to his music and I'm not into that kind of music.
That's not why I'm defending this comic. If you ask me, Manson is probably a character
he plays. Most people would do what he does to make as much as he does. Back to my
point, this comic is a play on peoples fears, it makes a good story too. I also
find it funny that the people who listen to Manson, read comics, and don't like this
interpretation are also the ones against comic censorship. Well, guess what I call taking away the
ability to impersonate famous people?
Hypertime, seems to be my mission to understand every aspect, and to
report it here. The new development in hypertime is apparently a "easier" way of getting
into hypertime. In the last Superboy, Superboy is speaking with a version of himself
that never was, broken out of the lab by the news oy legion. Anyway, something horrible
happened on his world, anticlone sediment turned him against normal people and now
he's marching across hypertime dominating "old bloods" because they're anti-clone.
(psycho)
He can move through hypertime in relative ease because he has a
wondrous element, "Hyperanium". This is the only element to exist in
energy form. It's also near impossible to get ,but once acquired, hypertime-travel is as
easy as crossing the street. This has potential good, potential bad, I guess that in a
pinch, it's an excuse for a good story. Likewise, it could be used by a numbskull writer and
produce a really confusing, ultimately pointless story. Oh, we all know it's gonna happen
eventually.
Of course with everything else in the comics, a bad writer can mess
up everything for years. I just feel this development is a little more unstable than
most. It could be a really big mistake. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but it's not paranoia if
they ARE out to get you! uhhhhh back to what I was talking about. At DC, everything seems to
be going too well, they may be setting themselves up for a fall. Or maybe they
just look good, by comparison, to Marvel in the past couple of years. Either way, hypertime
is a risk, a big risk, if you ask me, but the bigger the risk, the bigger the rewards.
