StarWars Fan Day

I believe this is a great idea to show the power of the force. It would be real cool to see how US the fans affected the box office when totals go up instead of down in the coming weeks.

On May 19th, the Force returned, breaking all box-office records. And now, one month later, on Saturday, June 19th... it does it again!!! Presenting: STAR WARS FAN DAY!! That's right, it's opening day all over! It's a call-to-arms for all Star Wars fans, and I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU, to flood the theatres on Saturday June 19th.

Why? Because, it's a great way to celebrate the return of the Star Wars saga. Because, it's a great way to give The Phantom Menace a strong second month kick-off. Because, all movies' weekend grosses go down, not up, after subsequent weekends, especially after the first month of release. But we're going to change all of that!

Bring your friends, your family, and anyone else you can! Dress-up. Yes, you heard me... DRESS-UP! You didn't make that cool Darth Maul costume just to wear it once did you? No! Throw a Star Wars Fan Day party.

Watch the original trilogy, play the trivia game. HAVE FUN. But most importantly: see the film. See it twice. See it as many times as you possibly can! Let's all get together on this and spread the word. Just tell everyone:

"Hey, have you heard? June 19th is Star Wars Fan Day. Everyone's supposed to go to the movie, dress-up, throw a party, and everything, just like opening night. Let's do it."

It's that simple. Together, we can push The Phantom Menace into the #1 spot, and Star Wars Fan Day is a fun, unified, way that fans can let people know we think The Phantom Menace is one of the best movies ever. Think of all the people that would come to see the film just out of curiousity, because it had a record high weekend gross for any film after one month of its release!

So, plan ahead now. Post this everywhere you can. Tell everyone you know. Generate all of the publicity you can. The fans have spoken...

...And The Force Is With Us.

Saffire Book Release

YOUNG OLYMPIANS HEADING TO BOOKSTORES

The author who wrote the novels for the latest Star Wars saga--which has spawned the most-hyped line of movie-themed merchandise in history--is now creating a new young adult adventure series based on an exciting new property called Young Olympians.

Author Dave Wolverton is developing a series of five novels around Young Olympians. An engaging game is also being developed by Saffire Corp., a Utah-based entertainment firm and one of the nation's hottest makers of video games.

Young Olympians already has its own web site. At www.young-olympians.com, fans will come to know five teenage Olympian heroes and their villainous foes. In the novels--and later in other properties--the ancient Greek gods have sworn an oath not to return to Earth. When a band of villains threatens the world, the gods turn to their children for help. The three young women and two young men, each with unique powers, journey through the Underworld and across the globe to save Earth.

The storyline for Young Olympians is scripted by Wolverton, a New York Times best-selling author. "I've had a longstanding interest in Greek mythology and the Greek gods, and in college even considered making that my emphasis of study," says Wolverton. He has produced books for leading publishers, and wrote the novels to be released with the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace." Toys and other products based on the LucasFilm project went on sale the first week in May, creating a buying frenzy across the U.S. In addition to Wolverton's novels, the story of the Young Olympians will be told through a variety of media, including comic books and posters.

Other likely spin-offs include music, fashions and toys. Hollywood is considering a Young Olympians TV series and feature film. Author Terry Brooks is writing the novel on which a movie would be based. Saffire VIPs are enthused about the impact Young Olympians products will have on the licensing world.

Saffire is a leader in producing dynamic games for such major distributors as Nintendo, Electronic Arts, G.T. Interactive and Midway.

'CHASSIS' CHANGES LANES TO IMAGE COMICS!

"Flying racecars, Kamikaze drivers, and zoot suit riots! Chassis -- the comic book that contains all this excitement -- and more -- will be published by Image Comics starting this fall.

"Chassis is the kind of comic we like to publish at Image", said Bob Matson, the Image Comics' Director of Sales. "We're aggressively expanding our line outside of traditional superhero comics, and Chassis certainly fits that description. It's a blend of science fiction and action-adventure set in a retro-40's style near-future."

"They create a unique comic book, "The potential audience is everyone in America who loves stockcar racing -- or exciting action stories. The book has good guys and bad guys -- high heroism and "dirty tricks" played by villains who want to win at any cost. But most of all, it's the story of a strong female lead character, Chassis McBain, who will appeal to men and women, alike."

"We're happy to bring Chassis to the Image Comics' Winner's Circle", said William O'Neill, artist and creator of the Chassis comic. We've already published seven issues of Chassis, but we've got a lot more stories to tell. This move allows us to focus on what we already know how to do -- create a visually exciting comic book. We can leave the details of the publishing process to the professionals at Image."

Image Comics is the third largest Comic Book Publisher in North America.

Chassis is a retro 40's-action adventure comic book about a female rocket racecar driver. This full color comic is told in a graphic art deco style. With 2 issues published at Millennium Comics and 5 at Hurricane Entertainment, Chassis has developed a solid fan following that includes comic book readers and Nascar fans alike. Hairpin curves, cliffhanger endings and Femmes Fatales, you'll find them all in Chassis.
