I've just inherited a few hundred comic books, and I'd like to put them in
clear plastic sheaths, and boxes -- do you know of a mail-order source for
these items? I'm in a rural area, and there aren't any comics collectors
stores nearby.
Thanks,
MJ
Hi MJ!
Just about every comic shop listed on the net does mail order
nowadays. One of the online mail order businesses with a good
reputation is Westfield Comics. The URL is:
They have comic bags listed under supplies, but I'm sure they would
send you boxes, too, if you emailed them and explained your
situation.
Good luck!

I was wondering if you had any contact information on a local comic artist
named Rus Sever. I was acquainted with him through comic conventions in the
Houston area for quite a time. I haven't been able to find any information
on him on the web and was wondering if you may have any information. Thanks
for your help in any case.
Mike
Hi Mike!
I remember Mr. Server well, from all the Carnival Production Cons around
here in Houston...it seems like he was a fixture at each one. I sent
out some emails to folks that might know if he had an email address, but
thus far, I haven't had any luck locating him on the net. My
websearches have come up empty, too. He very well might
not be online. However, I will publish this email in the next edition of The
Collector Times, and maybe some reader will have some information for
us.
I have some issues of mad magazine in excellent condition 1966 issues
and 9 th anniversary edition. Are they worth anything?
thanks dalton brown
Hi Dalton!
Yes, your Mad Magazines are worth something. I don't have the exact
numbers of your Mads, but 60's Mads in near mint condition are listed
as worth anywhere from $16-$30 each in the Overstreet Guide. I don't know
how much the 9th aniversary issue is worth, it not being specifically
mentioned in Overstreet. If you go over to www.ebay.com and do a
search on Mad Magazines, you can see that people are paying money for
them at auction.
i have some comic books i want to sell, but have no idea what they are

Hi Joshua!
I have recently discovered 2 online price guides. The url's are:
As far as print price guides go, I personally like the
Overstreet Price Guide. You can find it at your local comic shop, or
you can order it online at :

Subject: Question
Sheryl,
I visited your site & while searching around I found out that you've
been collecting comic books for a long time, so maybe you can answer a
question for me.
I've heard people in message boards talk about this plastic comic book
holders that can be tacked/nailed to your wall and have enough room so
you can slip a bagged & carded comic book inside for display. They are
top-loading & interlockable above, below, & to the sides. That way you
can make a wall of comic book covers.
Unfortunatly the people in the message boards always seem to get them at
their local comic shops & has no idea who makes them. I've tried my
local shops & they never even heard of such a thing.
If you have any information, especially a web site/phone number, I would
be most appreciative.
Thank you.
Mr. John Foldi
Hi John!
I might have been collecting comics for a lot of years, but I admit,
I had never heard of these interlocking holders. However, I might
have found a site for you. This company specializes in collectable
supplies, including comics:
If these folks don't have what you are looking for, my suggestion is
to go to www.yahoo.com and look at the business/collectable/comics
section. There's a whole lot of comic shops listed, and surely one of
them has the product and/or knows where to buy them.
When I stared collecting and reading comics, my idea of comic
preservation was to throw them in a cardboard box in a cool place,
because I couldn't afford a cedar chest: )
HELLO I HAVE A 1ST ISSUE OF VAMPARILLA THE ONE FROM THE BLACK MARKET. DO YOU
HAVE ANY LISTS ON HOW MUCH THEY SELL FOR??
THANK YOU
---CARRIE FERRONE
Hi Carrie!
Looking at my price guide, any genuine version of Vampirella #1 is
only worth from $3-$25. The black market copies are not listed in any
reputable price guide, and are actually worth considerably less than
the real item. Some people will buy black market items, but I can't
tell you where to find them, or what price to put on your book.
