Greg Beda's PostModern AnXst is a brilliantly witty and touching comicbook. Greg Beda draws on personal experiences for his series Rosewood. Beda used to work with mentally disabled people in a group home. Rosewood is a fictional group home for women. It is poignant and quite accurate interpretation of mentally disabled young woman. I see a little bit of my little sister in each and every one of these characters. There is one character that has a date with her boyfriend and just won't stop talking about it, and another character that has little screaming fits. These are just some of the little quirks that the characters of this series have. The really cool thing is that these quirks aren't off the wall and inaccurate. The art is cute and cartoony without being insulting. In all honesty the cartoon quality of the art compliments the quirkiness of both the characters and the plot perfectly.

The second major second of the book is a section of comic strips called Greg Beda's PostModern Romance that would fit perfectly into the Sunday Morning funnies section. These cartoons make lighthearted pokes at dating and relationships in the 90's. I think that everyone will find at least on of these strips amusing.

If you're interesting in picking up this wonderful book you can look in your comic shop if your comic shop is really cool and carries these sort of things or you can write to Re-Imagining Comic Art and ask them about ordering PostModern AnXst at:
