Well lets see here, off the top of my head I can remember the two most famous of my collection is: #1 issue of Brigade, still in the plastic slip, mint condition; #1 issue of Wild Cats, still in the plastic slip, mint condition; #1, #2, and #3 issue of wonder woman. A (i was told this but I am not sure about it) rare issue of spawn; #2 Hellstorm, i think thats it. I am not sure what else I have. I know they aren't worth that much, but I am starving like I said, and work won't get me a check for another 3 weeks.

thankyou for replying

Tigga (aka JD)

Hi Tigga!

Well, let's look at what last years Overstreet Guide lists these comics as:

Wildcats#1, if you have the edition with trading cards: $5.00
if you have the edition with gold foil unsigned: $8
if you have the edition with gold foil and signed: $12
if you have the newstand edition without cards: $3
Brigade#1$2
Wonder Woman#1$5
#2$3
#3$3
Spawn#2,in mint condition is $12

So, now you have an idea of how much your comics are worth. You have a few choices on how to sell them.If you have a credit card, or one of your parents or friends has one and will let you register on ebay with it, you can put your comics up for auction. If you need money fast, you can run an express auction, and the first person who reaches your minimum requirement can email you and you can end the auction early. You can specify your own rules, and the buyer will pay for shipping and handling. Ebay has a whole section on how to use their auctions, so you might want to go over and look, if that is something you are interested in. Go visit www.ebay.com for details.

If this isn't an option, there are other things you can do. Probably the easiest for you would be posting your list of comics and the prices you want for them on your college bulletin boards around campus with your phone number at the bottom, so buyers can contact you. Online you can post your list to the newsgroup rec.arts.comics.marketplace. You can get to the newsgroups through www.deja.com if you can't get that newsgroup on your isp. There's another site online I found last night looking for you where you can sell comics. The URL is:

http://www.comicweb.com/

They have a bulletin board where you can sell some of your comics.

Another option, if you have enough comics, is to go rent a stall/table at your local flea market on the weekend and sell them there.

Good luck with your selling! I hope I have been helpful. If you need more information, let me know.

Shadow Hawk

    Subject: Shadow Hawk

My son has a comic called Shadow Hawk it,s the # 0 sept addition We were told it was worth around $1000 to $5000 from my sons friend who is a comic collecter and wanted to know if you can tell us more about the comic and if this is true. We found on the internet the #1 Shadow Hawk to be worth $2500 but could not find anything on #0 copy. If you could help please E-mail us back

    Thank you
    Mrs. Stephenie Landon

Hi Stephenie!

I hate to be the one who bursts your bubble, but Shadow Hawk #0 is listed in the Overstreet Price Guide as being worth $2.00. Shadow Hawk #1 is listed at $2.00, also. Overstreet is a long time reputable comics guide used as the guide of choice by comics collectors. If you go over to http://www.ebay.com and run a search on Shadow Hawk, you can track what #1 is doing over there. I don't know where on the internet you found it going for $2500, but I doubt seriously anyone is going to pay that kind of money for it.

The only thing that Overstreet mentions in regards to the comic is that it comes with a poster and features Rob Liefeld art. It's really not unusual for comics printed at that time. Lots of them included gimmicks such as variant covers, foil embossed covers, and various types of inserts.

When this comic came out, there was an influx of speculators in the comic market. Wild estimates of how much this stuff would be worth one day was peddled to an entire generation of kids. Unfortunately, some unscrupulous retailers joined in. Those retailers are long gone, as well as the speculators, and the real market value of comics has returned. Meanwhile, I'm left answering email from college students who think their 10 year old comics are worth a fortune, and they aren't. Your son and his friend are not alone in thinking their comics are worth a lot of money : ) The good news is that Shadow Hawk #0 will be worth more, but it will be 20 or 30 years down the road. Such is the nature of the comics market.

I'm sorry I couldn't give you better news.

Audio Theater Comics

    From: "Michel Coia" <mcoia@elbygifts.com>

    Subject: Info request

Could you please help me with the following request.

I have a 3-part mini "audio theater" series of THE UNTOLD LEGEND OF THE BATMAN

    I ) The Untold Legend
II ) With Friends Like These
III ) The Man Behind The Mask

These comic books are still in their clear hard plastic wrap. They have never been exposed to the sunlight or air. I am trying to find out if they have any value at all.

Thanks

Michael

Hi Michael!

Yes, I am sure that your "audio theater" series is worth something. The comics alone are listed in Overstreet as being worth $4, $3, and $3. I'm assuming that you also have audio tapes, and hence, the value would go up. This kind of item is a specialty market kind of thing, and isn't really listed in Overstreet. Do I think they would sell? Oh yes indeedy, I do. Not every comic fan gets access to those specialty items. How much they would be worth, I cannot even guess at. You can alway run a search on ebay and see if anyone is selling them, and then track the auction, and see how much they go for.

Thanks for asking!
