So, earlier this month I was wandering through the miasma that
is my list of web sites. Suddenly, I came across this site I had
meant to review. Oddly enough, for some reason or another, I
had not done so. This being my chance to correct that, I
jumped upon it: I promptly forgot about it until the end of the
month and I received my friendly reminder(editor's note: threats
of bodily harm) from my editor.
Despite its name (in spite of it?) Roleplaynews.com is actually a
page dedicated to delivering news about things in the RP world.
This threw me off at first, too, but after my initial vertigo (in
hindsight, it may just have been the panic of approaching
deadlines), I found it to be a pretty decent site. Relatively high
on the niftiness scale.
Its simply put together. While some might not find this to be so
cool, after all the damage Ive done to my retinas trying to read
words against a background truly grasping for my eyes
attention, I found this page to be soothing. Its links are
organized intelligently (theres a section for reviews called
Reviews, and a section of interviews called Interviews). I wish
more places used a setup like that. It is updated regularly, has a
variety of different news available and quite an amount of
archives.
The links section is pretty good. also. I havent had the time to
go to all the links yet, but all of them that I try have worked.
Thats the important part. After all, theres always tomorrow for
looking at them.
The only complaint I had, and this is something that some
people might get annoyed at me for . . . is that they had a whole
links sub-category based on Magic cards. Now, Ive spent my
share of cash on them, and my share of time between classes in
high school on - quick - Magic games . . . but Its not a
roleplaying game. Its a card game with fantasy elements. No
matter how much cool artwork it has or how fun it is, it is as
much of a Roleplaying Game as Diablo is (not to be confused
with RPGs . . . *sigh*). And before I get into too much trouble
here, Ill zipper up.
