There is a reason why man struggles upward again and again, only to fall back once again into savagery. There is a reason for the fall of the Roman and Greek empires and for the rise of the Nazis. There is a reason for the Dark Ages, the Black Plague, and the Crusades.

There are unseen forces among us who live off of human suffering. These beings have been around almost as long as man. They are sometimes known as Interlopers.

Now, archaeologist Cody Westcott has stumbled across their secret. He is one of the few who can perceive them. He struggles to frustrate their attacks. He tries to relieve the human suffering they cause whenever he can . . . until the day they attack his wife. As she lies in a coma, he is approached by an odd European man with a German accent who offers to help. Thus begins a strange oddesy into the unknown which takes him to the farthest corners of the globe.

Once again, Mr. Foster takes an idea and runs with it . . . as far and as fast as he can. Once again, he creates the weird magic for which he is so well known. This is a real treat for fans of Mr. Foster and not to be missed.
