While most of the uneducated in the world believe that
comics are a childrens medium, there have been very
few new good kid books that can be enjoyed by both
children and adults.
This comics main character, Little Mad Skillz is a
five year old black girl, who is in charge of writing
wrongs and keeping justice prevalent for the children
of her neighborhood. Her parents were both Champions
of the Children and her older brother Junior Raw was
also a Champion. Little Mad Skillz, her superpowered
friends and her brother have their work cut out for
them keeping the playground safe.
I really enjoyed this book. It has great imagination,
and it doesnt talk down to you. I think thats very
important in a childrens book. This book has
characters that have superpowers, but are still
children. I think that the superhero genre is missing
a book that has characters that are children and act
like children. It gives kids characters that they can
relate to and pretend to be like. The sibling
rivalry and bickering in the book is sharply done and
avoids being annoying. Its a great book for
children, and its an entertaining book for adults. I
definitely think someone should get on the horn with
Santa Claus and tell him that theres a great new
stocking stuffer he needs to look into, this book.
The art in this book while black and white has great
depth due to an innovative use of grayscale. The art
fits perfectly with the stories. These guys are good
you should go to their webpage and check out what they
have up there, and pass the link onto Santa while
youre at it.
