If you thought I loved, or at least liked, every anime I've seen, the
movie version of X disproves it. It seemed like an interesting write
up on the back. The setup appears to be a for the traditional cool
superpowers battle over the fate of the world. Hey, I like classic
good vs. evil conflicts as long as they're well done.
This one isn't. The art is ok, not particularly pretty but fluidly
enough done not to interfere with the storyline. Then there was a
character a minute the first ten minutes. And, well, Ive cared more
about the characters in some of the Hentai Ive seen. You know,
the type of anime involving demons with phallic tentacles
doing . . . well, ewww. When someones mother is on fire and you
really couldn't care less, it's a strong indication of lack of emotional
involvement. Especially coming from me. I get upset when Hikaru,
the doll from Angelic Layer, is hurt. Yes, I'm a sentimental slob.
And this movie completely failed to involve me, mentally or
emotionally.
