Welcome to the October Edition of The Collector Times!
This month features our interview subject, the winner of Stan Lee's "Who Wants to Be a Superhero?" -- The Defuser.
This is the really cool thing about doing this magazine. Periodically I actually get to talk to people I
really want to talk to. My husband and I watch "Who Wants to be a Superhero?" every summer. We were rooting
for our Texas homeboy, The Defuser and we were both thrilled when he won. Imagine my surprise when I
discovered that the husband of a friend of Jason Bourgeois' plays City of Heroes with him. I sent out a
request, and I cannot tell you how absolutely frothing at the mouth fangirl I went to find an email from
The Defuser in my inbox. I am happy to report that he is as nice a guy as the television show makes him
appear and I hope you find his interview as interesting as I did. He's
involved in running a haunted house to raise money for breast cancer research and support. It's web site is:
www.scareforacure.org.
In the meantime, we have plenty for you to do. Jason Bourgeois went to Dragon*Con and not only wrote a
con report, but he took over 500 photos.
Jamie Coville went to the Toronto HobbyStar Fan Expo and not only wrote a con report and took photos,
he recorded panels and various other fan activities. You might not get to attend some of these conventions in person, but my writers make an effort
to make you feel like you were there!
In an amazing coincidence, both Chris Karnes and Jesse Willey
reviewed Superman:Doomsday. If you are thinking about getting the DVD, you have two reviews to read before you buy.
Christopher Coleman also brought himself a new X-Box 360 and he gloats along about it, too,
and it's quite enjoyable. Speaking of obsessions, AJ Reardon is currently enjoying playing Scion
and she instructs us on how to play a character smarter than you are. All in all, we've certainly got some great stuff
for you to read this month, so take some time and look around.
And check back for our interview. I'm pretty sure you'll be glad you did!
