Buy this comic. I don't often recommend a comic quite this strongly, but I'm doing it for this one. While I hate to use the old cliche of 'this comic is a cross between popular thing A and popular thing B' I'm going to do it. It's like Top 10, a detective show and a cartoon.

The main character is Bulldog Malone, he's a walking talking dog who is also an experienced detective. In this issue, he deals with normal rookie cops, superheroes, alien threats, high tech gadgetry, urban myths, super strong robots and his wife. The characters really seem to grow on you after the first issue. They feel familiar and a bit different at the same time. The story is interesting, the artwork is fun to look at. It is very clear and easy to read. Think Jeff Smith Bone type art.

The comic is black and white, with a color cover inked by Jerry Ordway from Avengers and Superman fame. It's 32 pages and the first issue hit the stores October 18th, I'm sure your retailer can order it. The comic is on a bimonthly schedule.

This issue gets what I normally rate Preacher and Avengers. 4 out of 5 stars.
