Welcome to the August Edition of The Collector Times!
Hey, look! Even Elvis was at Comic Con International at San Diego!
Once again, we have extensive coverage of Comic Con
International. Go to the con section
and look for con reports, news, and a boatload of photos. Joe
Singleton also writes about showing his art around at the con, which is an
interesting look at what happens on the creative side of things.
We also have con reports of a couple of SF conventions this
month. Paul Roberts wrote the con report of Consortium
2001 in Houston, and Mat Bredfelt writes about his trip to the
Plano Science Fiction Expo in the Dallas area.
As if this wasnt enough to keep you busy and off the streets,
Jamie Coville has an extensive interview with Scott
McCloud, where Scott talks about his response to the criticism
he has been receiving lately. Sidra Roberts also has an
interview with Terry Moore,
creator of Strangers in Paradise.
We also have a couple of new features this month. We welcome
Jeff Valentine, who starts a monthly column,
Comic Bookmarks, about all of the
interesting comic sites online. Not to be outdone by Stephane
with his mainstream movie reviews, younger brother Jon Morrell
has decided to write about B Movies.
Plus, we have lots, lots more. Take a look around, and enjoy the
ride through our site!
Next month we will have our annual contest for a cool prize,
bought at San Diego. I have to put it off till next month, due to
time constraints. Im also behind on my email again. San Diego
coverage is always a time eater upper, but we have no regrets: )
