Rich Koslowski ended the run on his 3 Geeks series about a year ago in order to have time to work on Three Fingers, his new graphic novel. Three Fingers is an absolutely fabulous book. Everyone in the audience right now should hightail it over to your comic shop and demand to know if your local comic dealer carries it. If he/she is unwilling to get the book for you, then you can go to http://www.topshelfcomix.com/topshelf/index.html and get a copy of your very own.

I interviewed Rich a couple years ago at San Diego. This year I picked up Three Finger at San Diego from Rich himself. When I saw he had a completely new project out and that he was reviving 3 Geeks as a backup story in Dork Tower, I decided that I needed to do a follow up interview with him. I quickly shimmied off to a corner of the convention center to read my brand new Rich Koslowski creation. I was totally blown away by this book. The art, story and tone are completely different from his 3 Geeks work.

Three Fingers is the Hollywood expose of Rickey Rat and the horrible "ritual" that surrounded his success. It follows the format of Hollywood True Stories and Behind the Music perfectly. It has interviews with "experts", family friends, and other stars of the time. It’s really great in a warped way. The art has several various styles to it. Some of the art looks like it was taken out of a family photo album. The interviews with the older ‘toons are done in a parody of the great old cartoons. The story is compelling and page turning. It has enough facts to make it look like a credible story, and the characters used are all personalities you generally see in those trashy Hollywood exposes.

Overall it’s a GREAT book! I went and bought my friend Sean his own copy of it. I thrust this book on anyone willing to read it. It’s a must read. You should all check it out now. Next month you can look forward to my follow up interview with Rich Koslowski.
