Chances are, by the time you read this, Paul and I will be down in Costa Rica. Yes, we've gotten
to the stage in our lives where we get the income tax return and ask ourselves, 'How can we fritter
this away?" and do it. We won't talk about the insanity of being 8 degrees off the equator in June
with no air conditioning . . .
I took a look at Artistic License this month and noted that Joe was
basing characters off of his friends. For a minute, I thought this was me :<P.
Whew! It wasn't, but Joe's column this month gives a lot of insight into his creative process
and how characters evolve over time. Plus, he drew a boat load of pictures! Jamie Coville interviews
Stuart Immonen about his current projects, and all I can say is that he's
a busy man and we were lucky he talked to Jamie. Jason Bourgeois goes back to his roots and talks
about X-men this month in Grey Matters. I guess Paul and I aren't the only
ones doing surprising things:)
We also welcome back Chris Karnes with his wonderful comic book capsule reviews.
He's been performing in a play, and I'm personally glad his run is finished so we'll see more writing
from him. Mat Bredfeldt, on the other hand, is miffed that no one is sending him email. So,
send him one and tell him you like his
Toy Chestcolumn, otherwise he's going to pack up his GI Joes and go home and
we'll miss him.
In other words, we've got some great stuff this month, so take some time and look around! We're always
glad that you are here!
