Subject: VALUE OF OLD MAGAZINES
WOULD YOU KNOW IF OLD BOYS LIFE MAGAZINES ARE OF ANY VALUE?
Hi Granny!
I have seen Boy's Life Magazines for sale at nostalgia cons before,
so I know they are worth something. I can't give you any exact price,
because all collectibles are really sold by what the buyer is willing
to pay for them.
Use their search feature, and type in Boy's Life Magazine, and you
will find some for auction. Not only are they for auction, but people
are bidding on them. This will give you an idea of how much your
issues are worth.
I am trying to find something similar to the clear plastic sheaths
used for comic books. I need one for newspapers. Do you know
where I can find something like this?
Hi Darren!
I found a couple of sites that will suit your needs:

Subject: comics as literature

hey!
i have a serious problem. i am trying to write a paper for an
english class on the legitimacy of comics as literature. however, i am
having trouble finding articles supporting this argument. if you have
an ideas, please e-mail me at kellyharrison22@hotmail.com.
thanks alot.
Hi Kelly!
Comics can be serious literature. If you have read Maus, then you
know it to be true. I, personally, like Joe Sacco's Palestine as a
companion piece to Maus. It gives one perspective on two religious
cultures and victimization.
Now, as far as articles on comics as serious literature, my site
doesn't have an article on the subject. I'm sure eventually it will,
now that you have given me the idea. Thanks! If you need some
references now, though, I suggest you go over to
and check out the online site for The Comics Journal. The whole purpose
of The Comics Journal is to promote comics as a serious art form and
literature. You should be able to find references over there. Also,
any reputable comic shop should be carrying The Comics Journal, and
any issue usually carries some related subject. I've been reading the
Journal for 20 years, so I know there have been all sorts of
articles published about comics as high literature over the years.
The Journal itself sells back issues at reasonable prices, too.
