Welcome to the January Edition of The Collector Times!
This issue is dedicated to the memory of Collector Times Staffer
Floyd Choat. Floyd and Gonzo are known for their
collaborative webcomic Starr and Rourke, run here in The
Collector Times. Gonzo reports to me that it was their first joint
creative project. Floyd, unfortunately, passed away suddenly
last month, and all of us who enjoyed his and Gonzos work are
saddened by his passing. If you are interested in reading his
obituary, it is located here:
This month, we start the new year out with a bang! Jamie Coville
returns to Covilles Clubhouse with a great interview with one of
my favorite creators of all time, Colleen Doran.
Damn Jamie and Colleen, I now have more to add to my comic
shopping list this year. :) Speaking of folks from the past,
Teddy Goldenberg returns to the
Art Gallery after a 3-year hiatus with the first of a series of his
drawings. Hes now 17, and is still doing strange little cartoon
drawings. Welcome back, Teddy! Wally Flores gives us his
best and worst comics of 2002, and
Jason Bourgeois talks about the good and
the bad in the X books over the last year. Zack Roman writes
about 3 videogames this month in Console-tations, and
Mat Bredfeldt writes a long column full of toy news for the
year ahead.
We also have a Con Report and
Photo Album from ItzaCon 4 last month.
Plus, as usual, a lot, lot more great stuff, so take
some time and look around.
Happy New Year to you! May the year 2003 be filled with
serenity, joy and prosperity for you!
