Welcome to the September Edition of The Collector Times!
Our cover this month comes from photos taken at Wizard World Chicago. It's our own Sidra Roberts, in her silver aged Night Girl costume.
We had a good time at Wizard Chicago, but I was a little disappointed. If one wants to see the
big name guest stars, one must arrive very early, stand in longs lines for long periods of time
for tickets to see said guest star, and thereby wastes a lot of time that could be better spent
buying stuff, meeting up with friends, or sitting in on panels. These same big name guests that
you can find at Chicago by spending hours in line, are readily accessible at Comic Con
International. Also, unless one is trying to break into comics in some form, Wizard's panels are
fairly limited. The high point of the con for us was meeting writer Chris Karnes in person!
We had fun, and Chris wrote a great con report about his experiences at the con! I have
a couple of panel summaries and a few photos for you.
Jamie Coville also went to the Toronto Comic Expo and provides us with a short con report.
Expect a full report with photos next month.
While at Chicago, Sidra conducted a follow up interview with one of our favorite creators,
Rich Kozlowski, of The Three Geeks fame. Rich talks about winning
the Ignatz Award, and his future comic plans in the interview. We discovered some awesome
talents while we were at Chicago, so expect some great reviews and interviews in the next
few months with up and coming creators.
Mat Bredfeldt reviews some new toys by Dinomania in Toy Chest. Stephane Morrell reviews
The Village and Alien vs. Predator in What I Care to See. Wally Flores Jr. asks what the
comics companies are doing to draw in young new readers in Graphic Content.
Plus, much, much more. Take some time and take a look around!
As usual, we are glad you are here!
