Welcome to the May Edition of The Collector Times! It's almost summertime in Texas, so I thought we'd celebrate by using one of the photos taken from The Roberts Family photo files. We call it, "scott crawford, The Pizza Delivery Guy."
Not that it's Scott Goddamn Crawford in that photo. He will deny it if you ask him. And that's not me with the big hair either, nor Sidra in that bikini. We don't know who any of these people are, really we don't. The real Scott Crawford is over at my house dragging my stepson over to fetishes night at one of the local nightclubs when he isn't here putting the mack moves on my daughter, Sidra. He proudly wore his lesbian t-shirt on Easter, with my mother over for dinner...not that my 70-something-year-old mother said a word about it, because she's seen my friends before. Scott, I discovered, had a mission for this trip to Houston. He wanted to ride a mechanical bull. Being the kind, gentle, obliging editor that I am (no matter what my writers claim in their columns,) I phoned half the redneck bars in town and found a mechanical bull. Not any mechanical bull either, it's the original bull from Gilleys in Pasadena, featured in the movie Urban Cowboy. Scott is scheduled to go ride this thing May 1st, and probably get a lovely tour of our public health system when he's done. Stay tuned next month for photos of this disaster, um, I mean event. In the meantime, you can read Scott's column this month, where he talks about what he's been doing here in Texas. We have other wonderful things this issue for you. Jamie Coville interviews Tony Isabella on subjects ranging from Black Lightning to his latest Marvel Comics: Daredevil work. Joe Singleton does something different in Artistic License this month, where he provides an overview of T.H.U.N.D.E.R Agents. Patrick Dunning took out his entire JLA collection to provide you an overview of Morrison's run on JLA in Judgment Calls. As far as gaming goes, Tim Till talks about the role of heroes in role playing games in Rants. Chris Reid provides a very helpful article for new Game Masters. Plus, much much more. As usual, we are glad you are here. I am never going to live this cover photo down: )
